One could argue that human beings have an innate desire to relate to natural environments. My instinctive bond with nature has always been a part of my life. Growing up, despite continuously being disciplined for pushing the boundaries of my backyard, I persistently kept going further into the woods next to my house. I felt the richness of pure solitude and my budding curiosity. How can the forest be so peaceful, yet so exhilarating? How can it instill such a soothing feeling in oneself, but still be so visually chaotic? I'm captivated by the concept of time and it's affect on the wonderment of the forest. The way light moves through the intricate array of brambles and branches, or how one fallen branch can cut through the delicate vertical lines of the trees can be transcendent. I feel fortunate to be enveloped by such an elegant and complex force.
